What Change Do You Really Want?

Recently I celebrated a client breakthrough!

It’s always exciting to see someone who has deliberately taken control of his career and made the leap to start something new. We’ll call him “Larry.”

Larry and I began working together about a year ago. At the time, he knew his work as an executive was weighing on him. Actually it had been plaguing him for a number of years. But he thought he could hold on and muddle through it.

Some of the battles he faced included:

  • Constant internal conflicts with other personnel over whom he had no responsibility or authority
  • Bureaucratic obstacles/Slow decision making
  • Inability to affect change
  • A system that did not support its people
  • Status quo thinking

Despite the negative working environment and inability to move things forward, he kept a positive outward attitude. Only in private did he share how frustrating and exhausting it was for him to continue on the same path.

Eventually he decided to entertain the idea of making some kind of change. He began talking with other people simply to express his openness to new opportunities.

He didn’t have to dive in and make a big splash. He simply stuck his toe in the water.

It quickly created a ripple effect. After just a few weeks, he saw multiple opportunities emerging. He picked just the right one that made sense given where he is in his life and what he wants most right now.

As a member of one of my mastermind groups, he had a confidential forum where he could talk freely about his ideas, progress and concerns throughout the entire process.

Larry has done what many other people want to do, but they lack the support and momentum to carry them forward.

If you feel stuck, frustrated or ready to make a change that puts you on a better path, find a mastermind group, or ask about joining one of mine.

Group synergy will speed your results.

What’s more important than creating the future you really want?

You don’t have to do it alone.
