Your Mid-Year Goal Assessment

by Gayle Lantz

Goals2 Congratulations! You’re half way through the year. It’s a good time to take a look at what you’ve accomplished and to sharpen your strategic focus for the balance of the year.

Here’s an exercise to help you and/or your team assess your priorities going forward.

Mid-Year Goal Assessment:

Complete these statements on your own or in a team meeting.

1.  The greatest personal and/or business accomplishment I have achieved so far this year is ______________________________.

2.  Over the last 6 months, I tend to get best results when _____________________.

3.  In considering my goals for the next 6 months, I am most confident about ___________________________.

4.  I am most concerned about ______________________.

5.  As I contemplate my goals for the next 6 months, I am most excited about __________________________.

6.  My most important goal is ____________________________.

7.  To achieve my goals(s), I will commit to the following ________________________________________________.

8.  One risk I am willing to take is _________________________________.

9.  The resources, financial support or people I need to acquire include: _________________________________.

10.  I’ll know I’m making progress when _______________________________.

This exercise is adapted from the one in my book, Take the Bull by the Horns. If you have a copy of the book, refer to chapter 45.

Take a few minutes this week to assess where you are and where you want to go. Whether you need to tweak your strategy or start with a clean slate, it will be well worth your time.

Your goals and aspirations are the springboard for growth. Strengthen your conviction to reach them.

Make the balance of the year the best part of your year!
