I saw some fascinating statistics recently that had to do with our increasing longevity.
We’re living longer. As a result, we will be living and working differently in the future. People are seeking alternatives to traditional forms of retirement.
When asked about the kind of work people would like to do in the future, 56% of those surveyed indicated their desire to be in a different line of work.
That would have been my response years ago before I started my own business.
Over the years, some of my clients have confided in me about their own desire to make a career change, to do something entrepreneurial or to start their own business. But, to them, it never seemed to be the “right time.”
There is not an ideal time to start a business, but there is always something you can do to get ready. Start the wheels in motion. Don’t wait until conditions are just right. (I certainly didn’t.)
Start small. Or start big if you’re ready. Start a business on the side. Start testing out your ideas in the marketplace.
If you’re thinking about starting a business, don’t think for too long. Just start by taking some kind of action – NOW!
